Cath Hughes

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am a full time creative mama to Beth, aka Boo, and Arthur, aka Boo Two. In March 2008, my family upped sticks from East London, England. Moving closer to nature, we relocated in the foothills of the coastal mountains in North Vancouver, BC, Canada. The following summer we bought a house and I settled into domestic life. Our days are filled with play, gardening, making, cooking and enjoying precious family time with Dadda Boo when he's home.
My studies were BFA in Painting (Oxford University, 1994), Teaching certificate (London University, 1996) and MA in Museums and Galleries in Education (London University, 2003). BB (Before Boo) I made oil paintings and worked for some years as an art teacher in London secondary schools, before becoming an artist educator and project manager for galleries such as Tate Modern, National Gallery, for the Government funded Creative Partnerships, and an artist in schools. Now I am trying my hand at writing and illustrating a children's book in my limited free time as well as enjoying making things with and for the Boos, in the process exploring lots of fun art and craft techniques.
